The Strawberry Line
This section of the Strawberry Line runs from Yatton in the north to Cheddar in the south. It is part of National Cycle Route 26 and is about 10.5 miles long, mostly offroad but passes through the middle of pretty Axbridge. The Sandford Station Railway Heritage Centre is approximately half-way.
Getting Here
There is a pedestrian, cycle, wheelchair and pushchair entrance on The Strawberry Line (at What3Words scarred.expectant.supposed) just south of the A368 with either steps or a ramp. Bike parking at the top of the ramp or bring them into the station (which is wheelchair friendly).
The Main Entrance to the Sandford Station Retirement Village is on the south side of the A368 just to the east of the Pelican Crossing for The Strawberry Line. There is NO PARKING on site but there aren’t any parking restrictions on the A368. Best Postcode for SatNav is BS25 5AB.
By train. Alight at Yatton and either cycle or walk just over 5 miles along The Strawberry Line.
By Bus. There are NO bus services on Sundays or Bank Holidays. The 126 (between Weston-Super-Mare and Wells via Winscombe) stops outside the site. The 125 (between Weston-Super-Mare and Wrington via Winscombe) stops outside All Saints Church (in Sandford). From there it is a 10 minute walk along the A368 to Sandford Station. Both the 125 & 126 buses also stop in Winscombe where there is direct access to the Strawberry Line.
