Location

Sandford Station Railway Heritage Centre is located just off the A368 in the country village of Sandford, a few miles east of Banwell and north of Winscombe, in North Somerset. It is adjacent to the Strawberry Line and there is easy access to the Centre from the Strawberry Line via a ramp or steps. There are some bicycle racks provided. This section of the Strawberry Line runs from Yatton in the north to Cheddar in the south. It is part of National Cycle Route 26 and is about 10.5 miles long, mostly offroad but passes through the middle of pretty Axbridge. The Sandford Station Railway Heritage Centre is approximately half-way between Yatton and Cheddar.

Nearby are the towns and villages of north Somerset including Weston-super-Mare, Cheddar, Axbridge, Yatton and, slightly further afield, the City of Bristol.

From the A38 turn west onto the A368 following the signs for Weston-super-Mare, Sandford and Banwell. The Heritage Centre is on the left, 2.1 miles from the A38 junction.

From the A371 in Banwell take the turning for the A368 following the signs for Bath, Bristol, Sandford and Churchill. The Heritage Centre is on the right, 1.2 miles from the A371 junction.

On Saturdays only (there is no service on Sundays or Bank Holidays) the Heritage Centre can be accessed by bus from Weston-super-Mare, Wells and Bristol and points in-between.

On the A368 in Sandford, alight / board at Sandford Station East, Red Arrow or West, Green Arrow.

The nearest working station is Yatton. From there you can walk or cycle along the Strawberry Line to Sandford Station. Bicycles can be hired at Strawberry Line Cycles. It is just under 5 miles from Yatton Station to the Heritage Centre.
