Sandford Station was officially opened on 10 June 2011 with a tree planting by Sue Gunn, great grandaughter of Mrs Anna Victoria Yatman who cut original sod of the Cheddar Valley Railway line in 1867 with the ceremonial silver spade pictured. To mark the opening the ribbon was cut by Gerald Lee, Chief Executive of St Manica Trust.

Sandford Station has aquired a coach to join the open goods wagon on the rails. The coach was successfully installed on Friday 25th March.
